The implant consists of an external portion that sits behind the ear and a second portion that is surgically placed under the skin. External component consists of Microphone, Speech processor and Transmitter. Internal components have receiver and electrode array which is inserted in cochlea. Both children and adults can benefit from cochlear implant if the digital hearing aids does not give satisfactory outcome.

Counselling for cochlear implant is very important and needs a multidisciplinary approach with other professionals as well. All the necessary follow ups, referrals and counselling sessions are conducted. In ‘Hear Health’ we provide services and accessories for cochlear implant of “Cochlear”.

Bone anchored Hearing Aids (BAHA)

Conventional hearing aids amplify sound which passes through the outer ear, middle ear and then into the cochlea. However, BAHA is a surgically implantable device. It sends soundwaves through the bones of the skull directly into the cochlea. It may restore partial hearing in people with conductive or mixed type of hearing loss or those who don’t get benefit from traditional hearing aids. A BAHA traditionally consists of three parts, Titanium implant, External connector and a Sound processor.
